Documentary Screening: The Librarians

Matheson Memorial Library (Elkhorn), along with Delavan Public Library, Lake Geneva Public Library, Fontana Public Library, Barrett Memorial Library (Williams Bay), and Lakeland Players LLC are very excited to collaborate and bring the 2025 award-winning documentary, “The Librarians”, to Walworth County for a screening at the historic Sprague Theater in Elkhorn. Book bans and threats to intellectual freedom are rampant across the United States. It is the books that have long fought for a place on the shelf that are being targeted. In this documentary, librarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy and our First Amendment Rights. As they well know, controlling the flow of ideas means control over communities.

This movie will be held at the Sprague Theater, 15 W. Walworth Street in Elkhorn and doors will open at 6:30 PM.
