An Afternoon with the Daughters of the American Revolution
The Daughters of the American Revolution has been around since 1890. Some of your grandmas may have been involved. During this program members of the Samuel Phoenix Chapter of the National Society DAR will share the history of this patriotic lineage society, discuss its evolution into today’s dynamic international organization, and explain who is eligible to join and how to apply. There is something for everyone in DAR – from crafts and sewing to writing skits and poetry, from recognizing good citizenship in middle and high school students to awarding scholarships, promoting literacy and conservation, and supporting State and National initiatives. Come and hear all about it!
