Bethel Community Garden Fall Clean-Up

We are going to tempt mother nature and plan a workday for the garden in November.  By November, most of the plant life will have shut down for the year, and the animal life will be tucked away in the winter homes in the garden.  In order to not disturb those animals, most of the plant material will be left as-is until Spring. However we do have some jobs to do this Fall:

• Dig up dahlia bulbs
• Prune and cordon blackberry plants
• Remove all the material from an underperforming bed, so that it can be amended for next year.
• Remove some plants that have turned into thugs.
• Thin some other overachievers, so that the excess plants can be given a home elsewhere.
