SUMMARY:Walworth County's Historic Places
DESCRIPTION:There's a National Register of Historic Place (and a Wisconsin Historical Society list too) where you will find almost 70 outstanding buildings and places in our area. Why were these Registers created? How does a building get considered or rejected for the list? Who decides? Which ones can you visit\, and which ones are private property?\n\nLet's take a look at our local gems and thank the "powers that be" for preserving them! To round out the picture and remind ourselves of the importance of highlighting these buildings\, we will look at some buildings in hindsight we could or should have done more to save\, and a few that are vulnerable today. Additionally\, we will look at a few important buildings not on any Register. \n\nThis program is presented by Michael Rehberg\, lead interpreter at Black Point Estate\, the Wisconsin Historical Society's historic house museum in Lake Geneva.
