DESCRIPTION:Kids\, teens and adults are invited to join us for a maker workshop with sewing machines. You can register for one session or all three (April 30\, May 7\, May 14). Please be aware that the library has a limited number of sewing machines. If you are bringing your own machine\, please note it in your registration. \n\n\n\nToday: Skirts \n\n Kids\, teens\, and adults are invited to join us for a sewing maker workshop focused on making your own skirt. We'll learn to take our measurements\, choose and cut a pattern\, and make a simple\, elastic-waist skirt.\n\nRegistration is required and space is limited\, so if you are unable to attend please let the library know. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn basic sewing machine skills as well as choosing and completing a simple project. Learn how to thread a machine\, control the treadle (foot control)\, and sew a straight line and curves.\n\nAttendees must have the required skills listed below:\n\nAbility to work independently and wait patiently for assistance when needed.\n\nCan safely use sewing implements with minimal supervision (needles and sharp scissors).\n\nAbility to thread a needle (needle threaders will be provided) and knot the end.\n\nAbility to safely use a sewing machine with limited supervision.\n\nHave sufficient motor control to use a foot pedal.
