DESCRIPTION:At a state level\, the aim of the event is to increase awareness of the unique cultural and historic heritage present in historic commercial districts\, as well as to engage residents of local communities in exploring and experiencing these districts\, both within their own communities or as individual destinations. An additional goal of the program is to assist local districts to gain additional exposure and recognition both in terms of their significant efforts and accomplishments as well as for the unique character of their individual districts.
